Install
Run this on any Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, Rocky or AlmaLinux host you want Knocknoc to control. The script configures the package repository, installs the knocknoc-agent orchestration agent, and enrols the host against your Knocknoc server.
curl -fsSL https://packages.knocknoc.io/setup/setup_knocknoc_agent.sh | sudo bash
Prefer to read the script before piping to bash? View it here.
What the script does
- Detects your distribution and adds the matching Knocknoc package repository.
- Imports the Knocknoc signing key.
- Installs
knocknoc-agentviaaptordnf. - Starts the orchestration agent as a systemd service and enables it at boot.
You'll be prompted for the hostname of your Knocknoc server so the orchestration agent can enrol.
Supported distributions
- Debian 11 (bullseye), Debian 12 (bookworm)
- Ubuntu 20.04 (focal), 22.04 (jammy), 24.04 (noble), 24.10 (oracular)
